7.2 Switching on
Before you switch on the motor, ensure that the parameters of the frequency converter have
been assigned correctly.
Use appropriate commissioning tools (e.g. "Drive ES" or "STARTER").
CAUTION
Uneven running or abnormal noise
The motor can be damaged by improper handling during transport, storage, or assembly. If
a damaged motor is operated, this can damage the windings or bearings and could even
completely destroy the motor.
If the motor is not running smoothly or is making abnormal noises, switch it off and
determine the cause of the fault as the motor coasts down.
CAUTION
Pay attention to the maximum speed
The maximum speed n
max
is the highest permissible operating speed. The maximum speed
is specified on the rating plate.
Exceeding speed n
max
can result in material damage or could even completely destroy the
motor. An appropriately configured control or an active speed monitoring function in the
drive should be used to ensure that the motor cannot exceed the permissible speeds.
