6.5.2 Integrating other Modbus devices into the digitalization
Because of the long life of low-voltage power distribution systems, an installation often
consists of a collection of the most diverse devices.
Effective integration into the digitalization, be it a web user interface or the cloud
connection, requires common, integrated structuring of the information.
7KN Powercenter 3000, in connection with powerconfig, handles this situation by describing
existing Modbus devices with powerconfig in such a way that they can be included in the
structure of the SENTRON devices. See chapter Modbus devices (Page 81)
The devices themselves remain unchanged.
7KN Powercenter 3000 provides the following digitalization services for Modbus devices:
• Display via the web user interface, see chapter Web user interface (Page 46)
– grouped
– in various languages
• Archiving at
– 10-second and
– 15-minute intervals
• Export of the archived values as csv files. See chapter Exporting recorded data (Page 53)
• Export of the 15-minute counter values. See chapter Exporting various 15 min average
values from the archive chart (Page 57)
• Integration into cloud systems
– SENTRON powermind, see chapter Communication with SENTRON powermind
(Page 61)
– For MindSphere, see chapter Communication with MindSphere (Page 60)
– For other clouds, see chapter Cloud service with MQTT (Page 68)
• Protection due to the security features of 7KN Powercenter 3000. See chapter Security

• Access via the transparent Modbus gateway. See chapter 7KN POWERCENTER 3000 as

This requires knowledge of the application and structure of the device.
• Time synchronization via SNTP / NTP if this is supported by the Modbus device.
