Descaling mode
After 500 uses, the appliance indicates that it needs to be descaled.
The control lamp for the “Large” latte button 
and the control lamp for the
“Small” latte button 3 flash alternately as soon as the appliance has heated
up.
CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE
You can continue to use the appliance, but we recommend descaling since
neglecting to do so could damage the appliance and eventually it will
become unusable.
NOTE
You can also carry out the descaling programme before 500 uses. To do
so, please proceed as described below.
1) Switch the appliance off using the on/off switch % and disconnect the
mains plug from the wall socket.
2) Fill the water tank 6 with 400ml of vinegar and 600ml of water.
3) Place the empty milk tank in the appliance.
4) Turn the “Milk quantity” knob to the “Clean”
position.
5) Place the sieve holder , in the appliance with the espresso sieve (/ or
).
6) Place a suitably large, empty container on the drip grille .
7) Adjust the milk nozzle so that it is pointing into the container.
8) Insert the plug into a mains power socket and switch on the appliance using
the On/Off switch %. The appliance heats up.
NOTE
If the device has already run through 500 applications, the control lamp
for the "Large" latte button
and the control lamp of the "Small" latte
button 3
flash alternately as soon as the appliance is heated up,
indicating that the appliance should be descaled.
9) Press the “Large” latte button
and the “Small” latter button 3 at
the same time, as soon as the appliance is heated up. The appliance starts
the descaling process. All of the control lamps light up in sequence. Steam
and hot water come out of the milk nozzle .
The descaling process completes after around 10 minutes, and all of the
control lamps come on permanently.
10) Empty the rest of the water/vinegar mix out of the water tank 6 and clean
the water tank 6 (see section “Cleaning the water tank”).
