Multiple connections (IEEE1394
compliant)
There are three ways to connect equipment.
Daisy chain connection
The equipment items are connected in series.
• 17 or fewer equipment items including the
monitor are connected.
• The connection length is 72 m or less.
Star type connection
One item of equipment is connected to one
connector on the monitor.
Tree type connection
The equipment items are connected in tree
style.
• 63 or fewer equipment items including the
monitor are connected.
• 17 or fewer equipment items are
connected from the terminal to the
terminal. The illustration shows five
equipment items connected from A to B.
• The equipment cannot be operated if the
equipment items are linked.
• The cable can be disconnected with
equipment turned on (hot plug function), but
do not disconnect the plug while the data is
being communicated.
