Adaptor
The BKM-255DV Input Adaptor is the
video signal input adaptor for Sony
professional monitors.
When installed in the input option slots, it
provides video input/output connectors for
the main unit and a decoder for DV signals.
Functions
Decoding of DV signals
The built-in decoder decodes the audio/
video signals of the DV (525/625) signals.
For audio signals, select the channel to be
decoded in the menu.
Two pairs of input/output connectors
• Two pairs of input/output connectors for
DV signals
• 400Mbps communication
• Connectable only DV signals
• Broadcast connection
• Hot plug (cable disconnectable with
equipment turned on) and play function

The signal formats decoded by the BKM-
255DV are as follows:
DV (525/625)
S100/200/400

The configuration of the input and output
connectors and the signals that may be input
are shown below.
Input/output of DV signals
You can input/output DV signals to
connectors 1 and 2.
Assigning input signals to
connectors
After assigning input signals to each
connector, carry out the auto chroma/phase
adjustment.
Connecting
Connect the main unit and the IEEE1394
compliant equipment.
When equipment is connected, pay attention
to the following:
• Please read the operation manual of the
equipment to be used.
• Use a cable of 4.5 m or less length.
(IEEE1394 compliant)
• When a 4-pin connector is installed to the
equipment to be used, use a cable (IEEE1394
compliant) with 4-pin and 6-pin connectors.
• The connector of the adaptor is 6-pin, but the
power cord cannot be connected.
• Check the direction of the connector when it
is connected. If the connector is connected in
the wrong direction, the cable or equipment
may be damaged.
• Connect the connector firmly.
