Tape Player, Recording Section and General Operation
[1] REC MODE switch
To record loud sound or music, set the switch to LIVE. To record
sound at a lower level such as a meeting, set it to MTG (meeting).

[4] Battery connecting points (for supplied battery case)
[5] BATT (battery) indicator
[6] Main unit: REC (recording) button and hold cover

<> (playback/tape transport direction change) button
To change the tape transport direction, press it during playback.
(stop) button
FF (fast-forward)/CUE button
To fast-forward the tape, press it while the unit is in the stop mode.
To cue, press it once during playback. To resume the playback,
press the <P button.
To listen to the other side of the cassette from the beginning, press it
twice during playback. (Skip reverse function)
REW (rewind)/REVIEW button
To rewind the.tape rapidly, press it while the unit is in the stop mode.
To review, press it once during playback. To resume the playback,
press the <> button.
To listen to the currently played back side of the cassette from the
beginning, press it twice during playback. (Auto play function)
[9] HOLD switch and indicator
To prevent accidentally pressing the operation buttons on the main
unit or remote controller, slide the HOLD switch until the HOLD
indicator appears or set the HOLD switch to HOLD.
MODE (playback mode) selector
=: Plays back both sides of the cassette once.
@=>: Plays back both sides of the cassette continuously
O/REMOTE (headphones/remote controller) jack
[12] VOL (volume) control
EX DBB (Dynamic Bass Boost) selector
To listen to heavy and powerful sound, set it to MID (medium) or
MAX (maximum).
MIC (microphone) (PLUG IN POWER) jack
[15] DOLBY* NR (PB) (Dolby Noise Reduction) switch (for playback
only)
To listen to a tape recorded in the Dolby B NR system, set it to ON.
ISS (Interference Suppress Switch) selector
If a whistling noise is heard during AM recording, set the switch to
position 1, 2 or 3 depending on which one best reduces the noise.
Micro plug
AVLS (Automatic Volume Limiter System) selector
To limit the maximum volume, set it to either 1 or 2.

[4] FM/AM (monaural/stereo) selector
To listen to a stereo broadcast, set it to ST. If the stereo broadcast is
difficult to receive, set it to MONO.
