Chapter V Use and Operation
1 Inspection before Start-up
1.1 Check the oil level of the diesel engine oil: it should be between the upper and lower scales of oil
level gauge.
1.2 Check the coolant level of the diesel engine. If it is insufficient, please replenish it in time.
1.3 Check the fuel tank liquid level. When it is insufficient, please timely add the correct grade of clean
diesel. Use a filter screen when refuelling. Pay attention to control fire.
1.4 Check and eliminate the moisture of fuel filter and fuel tank.
1.5 Check the compressor oil level: The oil level of static lubricating oil shall be slightly above the
centre position of oil level gauge (oil sight glass 2).
1.6 Check and eliminate the water in the oil-air separator: Open the drain valve at the bottom of oil-air
separator to discharge the condensate water during shutdown. Once there is oil flowing out, close the
drain valve immediately.
1.7 Check and clean the air filter: Clean the air filter dust chamber. Remove the main filter element to
clear the dust on its surface. The clearing method is to blow down the dust from inside to outside with
low-pressure air.
1.8 For the first test run or reuse after long-term shutdown, 0.5 litre of screw oil shall be added in the air
compressor intake valve to prevent the air compressor from being damaged due to oil loss during
start-up. Pay special attention to prevent foreign objects from falling into the compression chamber.
1.9 Check whether the air supply ball valve and exhaust pipe are smooth and avoid keeping down the
pressure due to the rapid pressure rise after the equipment is started.
1.10 Ensure the “LOAD/ UNLOAD” switching valve is at the UNLOAD position.
