5.4 TRIMMER HEAD, SEE FIG. 6
Fit the following parts on the angular gear's shaft:
1. Spacer.
2. Protective washer.
3. Trimmer head.
Insert the accompanying screwdriver in the hole in the
angular gear's housing. Rotate the shaft so that the
screwdriver can be pressed in and lock the spindle.
See Fig. 7.
Tighten the trimmer head by hand.
Note! Left-hand thread.
6 OPERATING
6.1 FUEL
WARNING! Read and make sure you understand
all the safety instructions in section 2.2.
WARNING! Do not smoke or allow naked flames
in the vicinity of petrol.
Use fuel according to one of the following alternatives:
Buy ready-mixed 2-stroke fuel with 2 % oil.
Mix unleaded 95 octane petrol with 2 % synthetic 2-
stroke oil, yourself.
6.1.1 Mixing of fuel
NOTE! Remember that normal unleaded petrol is a
perishable product. Do not buy more petrol than you can
consume in 30 days.
Mix 1 dl of synthetic 2-stroke oil with 5 litres of 2-stroke fuel
according to the instruction below.
1. Prepare a clean container, approved for petrol and which
contains at least 5 litres.
WARNING! Never use 2-stroke oil intended for
outboard engines or four-stroke engines.
WARNING! Use only synthetic 2-stroke oil.
2. Pour in 1 dl of synthetic 2-stroke oil (for 5 litres of 2-
stroke fuel).
3. Pour in 1-3 litres of unleaded 95 octane petrol.
4. Close the cap and shake the mixture for approx. 15
seconds.
5. Pour in the rest of the petrol so that the total volume is 5
litres.
The same proportions of oil should be used if mixing another
fuel volume.

WARNING! Read and make sure you understand
all the safety instructions in section 2.2.
WARNING! If the engine has been running, wait a
few minutes until it has cooled before filling up
with petrol.
WARNING! Fill carefully to avoid spilling fuel.
Fill up as follows:
1. Clean round the filler cap. See (24) in Fig. 3.
2. Unscrew the filler cap.
3. Fill up by using a funnel, or a container with filler spout,
to avoid spilling fuel.
4. Screw on the filler cap.
5. Move the clearing saw at least 3 metres from the filling
area before starting it.
6.2 STARTING
WARNING! Move the clearing saw at least 3 me-
tres from the filling area before starting it.
6.2.1 Before starting
Refer to the safety instructions in section 2.3.
Check that the blade/trimmer head is in good condition.
Check that the guard for the blade/trimmer head is in good
condition.
Make sure that no unauthorised persons are within a safe
distance of 15 m.
Put on the harness with hanger hook on the right-hand side of
the body. Adjust the harness so that it fits comfortably. See
Fig. 13.
6.2.2 Starting a cold engine
1. Set the choke in the choke position. See (B) in Fig. 9.
2. Press in the fuel button once so that fresh fuel flows into
the intake manifold. See Fig. 10.
3. Set the stop control in the starting position. See Fig. 11.
4. Place the clearing saw so that it rests firmly on a flat
surface.
WARNING! When the engine starts the blade/
trimmer head starts to rotate at high speed. Make
sure not to come into contact with moving parts.
5. Press the clearing saw to the ground with one hand, and
pull the starter cord out slowly with the other hand. When
the recoil starter engages, pull the handle quickly and
forcefully until the engine starts. See Fig. 12.
Note! Do not pull the cord too hard against its stop position,
and do not let go of it when it is pulled out. This will damage
the recoil starter.
6. Press in the throttle control, (11) in Fig. 3, when the
engine has started to reset the choke.
