SPARK ARRESTER
The muffler has a spark arrester
which must be periodically
cleaned to maintain good effi-
ciency. At the intervals shown in
the maintenance chart, clean the
spark arrester as follows.
1. Remove the bolts 1.
2. Remove the spark arrester.
3. Use a brush to remove carbon
deposits from the spark
arrester screen. Be careful not
to damage the spark arrester
screen. Check that the screen
has no holes and breaks.
Replace the screen if neces-
sary.
WARNING
A hot muffler can burn you. The
muffler will be hot enough to
burn you for some time after
stopping the engine.
Wait until the muffler cools to
avoid burns.
