ENGINE COOLANT
Coolant Level
Remove the seat to check the
coolant level. The engine coolant
solution should be between the
“F” (FULL) and the “L” (LOW) level
lines on the engine coolant reser-
voir. If the level is lower than the
“L” level line, bring it up to the “F”
level by adding specified engine
coolant.
NOTE:
• Check the coolant level when
the engine is cold.
• If the engine coolant reservoir
is empty, check the radiator
coolant level.
To add specified engine coolant:
1. Lift the fuel tank by referring to
the FUEL TANK LIFT section.
2. Remove the filler cap and add
specified engine coolant
through the filler hole until it
reaches the “F” line. Refer to
the FUEL, ENGINE OIL AND
COOLANT RECOMMENDA-
TIONS section.
WARNING
Engine coolant is harmful or
fatal if swallowed or inhaled.
Solution can be poisonous to
animals.
Do not drink antifreeze or cool-
ant solution. If swallowed, do
not induce vomiting. Immedi-
ately contact a poison control
center or a physician. Avoid
inhaling mist or hot vapors; if
inhaled, remove to fresh air. If
coolant gets in eyes, flush eyes
with water and seek medical
attention. Wash thoroughly
after handling. Keep out of the
reach of children and animals.
