nals
can
then
be
quickly
and
accurately
compared
with

reference
signal
without
disturbing
the
setting
of
the

OLTS/DIV
Variable
control
.
This
procedure
is
as
follows
:
1
.
Preset
instrument
controls
and
obtain
α

aseline
trace
.

.
Apply
t
he
reference
signal
to
either
vertical
channel
input
and
set
the
VERTICAL
MODE
switch
to
d
is
p
lay
the
channel
used
.

.
Set the
amplitude
of
the reference
signal
to
five
verti-
cal
d
ivisions
by
adjusting
the
V
OLTS/DIV
switch
and
V
OLTS/DIV
Variable
control
.

.
Disconnect
the
reference
signal
and
app
ly
the un-
known
signal
to
b
e
measured
to
the
same
channel
input
.
Adjust the
vertical
position
of
the
waveform
so
that
its
b
ot-
tom
edge
j
ust
touches
the
0%
line
on
the
crt
.

orizontally

osition
the
waveform
so
that
its
top-
most
features
cross
the
center
vertical
graticule
line
