Adjusting the Cutting Height
Adjusting the cutting height may bring you into
contact with the moving blade, causing serious
injury.
• Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts
to stop.
• Do not put your fingers under the housing
when adjusting the cutting height.
If the engine has been running, the muffler will
be hot and can severely burn you. Keep away
from the hot muffler.
Adjust the cutting height as desired. Set the front wheels
to the same height as the rear wheels.
Note: To raise the mower, move all the cutting height
levers rearward. To lower the mower, move all the
cutting height levers forward (Figure 9).

Note: The cutting height settings are 1 inch (25 ram);
1-3/8 inches (35 ram); 1-3/4 inches (44 ram); 2-1/8
inches (54 ram); 2-1/2 inches (64 ram); 2-7/8inches (73
ram); 3-1/4 inches (83 ram); 3-5/8 inches (92 ram); and
4 inches (102 ram).
Starting the Engine
1. Hold the blade control bar against the handle
(Figure 10).

Pull the recoil start handle lightly until you feel
resistance, then pull it sharpl> Allow the rope to
return to the handle slowly (Figure 10).
Note: If the mower does not start after several
attempts, contact an Authorized Service Dealer.
Using the Self-propel Drive
To operate the self-propel drive, squeeze the self-propel
drive bar (Figure 11) toward the handle and hold it.
