controllevertotheMOWposition,andrisefrom
theseat.
Theengineshouldshutoff,whichindicates
thattheinterlocksystemisoperatingcorrectly.
Correcttheproblemifitisnotoperatingproperly.
CheckingtheRaise/LowerMow
Control
1.Sitontheseat,movethetractionpedaltothe
NEUTRALposition,movethefunctionalcontrol
levertotheNEUTRALposition,andengagethe
parkingbrake.
2.Starttheengine.
3.Movetheraise/lowermowcontrolforwardto
lowerthecuttingunits.Thecuttingunitsshould
lowerbutnotstartrotating.
Iftheystartrotating,theinterlocksystemisnot
operatingcorrectly;correcttheproblembefore
operatingthemachine.
DrivingtheMachinewithout
Mowing
•Ensurethatthecuttingunitsarefullyraised.
•Movethefunctional-controllevertotheTRANSPORT
position.
•Usethebrakestoslowthemachinewhilegoing
downsteephillstoavoidlossofcontrol.
•Alwaysapproachroughareasatareducedspeed
andcrosssevereundulationscarefully.
•Familiarizeyourselfwiththewidthofthemachine.
Donotattempttopassbetweenobjectsthatare
closetogethertopreventcostlydamageand
downtime.
MowingtheGreen
Important:Iftheleakdetectoralarm(ifequipped
onyourmodel)soundsoryounoticeanoilleak
whilecuttingonagreen,immediatelyraisethe
cuttingunits,drivedirectlyoffthegreen,and
stopthemachineinanareaawayfromthegreen.
Determinethecauseoftheleakandcorrectthe
problem.
Beforemowinggreens,ndaclearareaandpractice
performingbasicmachinefunctions(e.g.,startingand
stoppingthemachine,raisingandloweringthecutting
units,andturning).
Inspectthegreenfordebris,removetheagfrom
thecup,anddeterminethebestdirectiontomow.
Basethedirectiontomowonthepreviousmowing
direction.Alwaysmowinanalternatepatternfromthe
previousmowingsothatthegrassbladesarelessapt
tolaydownandthereforebedifculttotrapbetween
thereelbladesandthebedknife.
CuttingtheGreen
1.Approachthegreenwiththefunctional-control
leverintheMOWpositionandthethrottleatfull
speed.
2.Starton1edgeofthegreensothatyoucanuse
theribbonprocedureofcutting.
Note:Thisholdscompactiontoaminimumand
leavesaneat,attractivepatternonthegreens.
3.Pushforwardtheraise/lowermowleverasthe
frontedgesofthegrassbasketscrosstheouter
edgeofthegreen.
Note:Thisproceduredropsthecuttingunitsto
theturfandstartsthereels.
Important:Thecentercuttingunitdrops
andraisesslightlyafterthefrontcutting
unitsdo;therefore,youshouldpractice
gainingtherequiredtimingnecessaryto
minimizethecleanupmowingoperation.
Note:Thedelayinraisingandloweringthe
centercuttingunitdependsonhydraulicuid
temperature.Coldhydraulicuidresultsina
longerdelay.Astheuidtemperatureincreases,
thedelaytimebecomesshorter.
4.Overlapaminimalamountwiththepreviouscut
onreturnpasses.
Note:T oassistinmaintainingastraightline
acrossthegreenandkeepingthemachinean
equaldistancefromtheedgeofthepreviouscut,
imagineasightlineapproximately1.8to3m(6
to10ft)aheadofthemachinetotheedgeofthe
uncutportionofthegreen(Figure26).Include
theouteredgeofthesteeringwheelaspartof
