1.Positionthebatteryinthetraywiththeterminal
postsoppositefromthefueltank(Figure44).
2.Installthepositive(red)batterycabletothe
positive(+)batteryterminal.
3.Installthenegativebattery(black)cabletothe
negative(-)batteryterminal.
4.Securethecableswith2bolts,2washers,and
2locknuts(Figure44).
5.Slidetheredterminalbootontothepositive
(red)batterypost.
6.Installtheclampandsecureitwiththewingnut
(Figure44).
ChargingtheBattery
WARNING
Chargingthebatteryproducesgassesthat
canexplode.
Neversmokenearthebattery,andkeep
sparksandamesawayfrombattery.
Important:Alwayskeepthebatteryfullycharged.
Thisisespeciallyimportanttopreventbattery
damagewhenthetemperatureisbelow32°F(0°C).
1.Chargethebatteryfor10to15minutesat25to
30ampsor30minutesat10amps.
2.Whenthebatteryisfullycharged,unplug
thechargerfromtheelectricaloutlet,then
disconnectthechargerleadsfromthebattery
posts(Figure45).
3.Installthebatteryinthemachineandconnect
thebatterycables,refertoInstallingtheBattery.
Note:Donotrunthemachinewiththebattery
disconnected;electricaldamagemayoccur.
