5.4.1 Battery safety instructions
Never use batteries that are not intended or designed for use
with the unit.
Please keep your original operating instructions. Refer to these
instructions when it is time to replace your Torqeedo battery.
Different makes of cell or cells of different capacity,
size and design may not be used
together within one unit.
Whenever possible, batteries should be removed from the units
when they are not in use.• Store your battery in
its original packaging when not in use or charging.
Please clean the contacts on the battery and the unit before installing the
battery.
Batteries must not be subjected to repeated impacts or
mechanical shocks.
Please store batteries out of the reach of children.
Soiled battery poles can be wiped with a clean, dry
cloth. Use a clean cloth moistened with a little water to
clean plastic surfaces, e.g. the housing or covers. Cells and batteries must not come into contact with
solvents such as thinners, alcohol, rust inhibitors or substances that may damage the surface like
strong detergents.
Do not store batteries where they may be exposed to
rain. High temperature and high humidity may impair insulation
resistance and result in auto-discharging as well as surface corrosion.
Batteries and cells must not be stored hazardously in
a box or drawer where they might short-circuit each other or
be short-circuited by other conductive materials.
