REMOVAL OF TIMING BELT

1. REMOVE DRIVE BELT AND WATER PUMP PULLEY
2. REMOVE SPARK PLUGS (See page IG- 7)
3. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER
(See
steps 8 and 12 on pages EM-60 and 62)
4. SET N0.1 CYLINDER TO TDC/COMPRESSION
(a) Turn the crankshaft pulley and align its groove with
the timing mark "O" of the No.1 timing belt cover.
(b} Check that the hold of the camshaft timing pulley is
aligned
with the timing mark of the bearing cap.
If not, turn the crankshaft one revolution (360°).
