Engine Care
Refer to the separate engine manual for all engine •
maintenance instructions.
Check engine oil level before each use as instructed in the •
separate engine manual packed with your unit. Read and
follow instructions carefully.
Clean air cleaner every 25 hours under normal conditions •
or once a season. Clean every few hours under extremely
dusty conditions. To service the air cleaner, refer to the
separate engine manual packed with your unit.
The spark plug should be cleaned and the gap reset once •
a season. Check engine manual for correct plug type and
gap specifications.
Cleaning The Flail Screen
If the discharge area becomes clogged, remove the flail screen
and clean area as follows:
Stop the engine. Make certain the chipper/shredder 1.
vacuum has come to a complete stop.
Disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug and ground 2.
against the engine.
Remove and set aside the vacuum bag.3.
Remove the four self-tapping screws from the bottom of 4.
the discharge chute. See Fig. 6-1A.
Remove the hex bolt, saddle washer and hex nut from the 5.
top and remove the discharge chute assembly. See Fig.
6-1B.
Maintenance
General Recommendations
Always observe safety rules when performing any •
maintenance.
The warranty on this chipper/shredder vacuum does not •
cover items that have been subjected to operator abuse or
negligence. To receive full value from warranty, operator
must maintain the equipment as instructed here.
Changing of engine-governed speed will void engine •
warranty.
All adjustments should be checked at least once each •
season.
Periodically check all fasteners and make sure these are •
tight.
WARNING: Always stop engine and disconnect
spark plug wire before cleaning, lubricating or doing
any kind of maintenance on your machine.
Lubrication
Lubricate the rear wheels with light oil once a season.1.
Lubricate each nozzle door adjustment lever once a season 2.
with light oil.
Grease fittings are located on the front caster wheels to 3.
provide easy lubrication of the swivel pins.
Equipment Care
Clean the chipper/shredder vacuum thoroughly after each •
use.
Wash bag periodically with water. Allow to dry thoroughly •
in shade.
If the flail screen becomes clogged, remove and clean as •
instructed below.
NOTE: Cleaning with a forceful spray of water is not
recommended as it could contaminate the fuel system.
