8.1 Rules for Arming and Disarming
Before proceeding with the assembly or disassembly of the pump, keep in mind that:
• Personnel responsible for operation, maintenance, inspection and assembly must be suitably qualified and authorized.
• The scope of responsibility and supervision of the personnel must be exactly defined by the plant operator.
• The plant operator must ensure that the operating instructions are fully understood by the personnel.
• In order to be eligible for the warranty period of the warranty offered by VOGT S.A., it is necessary that:
o The instructions in this manual have been followed correctly.
o The equipment must be disassembled only by authorized personnel of our Technical Assistance Services or directly
by personnel from our factory.
• Any modification of the equipment must be previously consulted with VOGT S.A. For safety reasons, spare parts and
accessories authorized by VOGT S.A. must be used.
• The use of non-original spare parts exempts VOGT S.A. from any responsibility.
• Before proceeding to assemble or disassemble the pump, make sure that:
o The motor cannot be operated accidentally and must therefore be disconnected from the mains (e.g. remove fuses,
unplug, switch off circuit breaker, etc.).
o The pump is free of pumped fluid, cleaning it internally with appropriate liquid in case it is a hazardous fluid (hot,
pollutant, flammable, etc.).
o The pump is disconnected from suction and discharge piping and its base.
• During arming or disarming of the pump:
o Never use fire or heat to disassemble the pump.
o Never strike the pump elements.
o Always use suitable tools.
o Never assemble the pump with damaged parts or components.
• After a longer period of operation, it is possible that individual parts may become disassembled or dismantled with difficulty.
If necessary, use a known deoxidizer or, if possible, a suitable disassembly device. NEVER USE INAPPROPRIATE FORCE
which could damage the part, the pump or persons.
• During arming or disarming consider the exploded view of the pump in section 8.5.
