Empty the fuel tank of fuel, dirt and sludge. Fill the
fuel tank completely, to avoid condensation.
•
Clean the outside of the engine. Do not use a high-
pressure washer to clean the engine. Touch up any
paint damage with Volvo Penta original paint.
•
Check all control cables and treat with conserva-
tionagent.
•
Make good an areas with paintwork damage with
Volvo Penta original paint. Read the instructions
about painting the stern drive in the section Stor-
age page 67.
•
Disconnecting the batteries. Clean and charge the-
batteries. An insufficiently-charged battery can
freeze and burst.
•
Spraying the components of the electrical system-
with water-repellent spray.
•
Removing the propeller for winter storage. Grease
the propeller shaft with water resistant grease, VP
part # 828250.
•
Check the rubber seal between the drive and hull.
