Oil level, checking and topping up
Checking
Check the oil level when the reverse gear has reached
working temperature, with the engine at idle and
control lever at neutral.
1 Pull up and dry off the dipstick (1) and insert in
the reverse gear again.
WARNING!
Working with or approaching a running engine is a
safety risk. Watch out for rotating components and
hot surfaces.
2 Pull out the dipstick again and check the oil level.
The correct level is between MAX and MIN
marks.
Filling
Top up with oil as required through the filler opening
(2) on the top of the reverse gear, refer to Technical
Data, page 73 for oil grade and volume.
IMPORTANT!
Never over-fill the reversing gear. The oil level must
always be within the recommended range.
