Ingredients:

Preparation:
Combine one cup of water with two cups granulated sugar in a small
saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Continue
heating the mixture until all of the sugar has dissolved, and you are left
with a slightly syrupy consistency. Add one tablespoon of your extract
of choice (peppermint, lemon, and vanilla all work well). Add a few
drops of food coloring, if desired, to the syrup. Stir well to combine all
ingredients, and allow the snow cone syrup to cool in the refrigerator
for a few hours before drizzling over shaved ice.
