Check the impeller rotation
WARNING:
The starting jerk can be powerful.
The start reaction can be physically dangerous, especially in the case of direct starting. Do
not allow the pump to hang freely during this check.
Check the direction of rotation each time the cable has been re-connected and after phase
or total supply failure.
1. Place the pump on the ground.
2. Push a pointed rod, a pipe, or a similar instrument into one of the strainer apertures.
3. Place a support under the rod.
4. Using the rod as a lever, tilt the pump slightly.
5. Start the motor.
6. Stop the motor.
7. Check that the impeller rotates in the correct direction.
The correct direction of impeller rotation is clockwise when you look at the pump from
above. When started, the pump will react in the opposite direction to the impeller
rotation.

8. If the impeller rotates in the wrong direction, then transpose two phase leads and
repeat this procedure from step 1.
