Symptom Possible fault Remedy

Post driver fails to operate. No flow f rom supply. Check output withf low and
pressure tester.
Hoses incorrectly fitted. Check that pressure feed is
connected to P port on the LPD.
Insufficient mov ement of triggerv alve. Adjust trigger lev er or replace def ect
points.
Main spool jammed or damaged. Remov e and check.
Clean all associated parts.
Striker piston seized Remove and check f or 'pick-up'
on pistonf eeder or barrel.
Replace any damaged parts.
LPD lacks striking power. Insufficient av ailable pressure. Check Main Relief Valv e.
Low accumulator gas pressure
(Normally associated with v iolent
shaking of hoses).
Re-charge the accumulator – refer to
Serv ice Manual.
Stopping bush in nose casting loose. Apply Loctite 648 and press back.
LPD runs slow Insufficient flow Check that the flow rate is correct.
Cold oil. Warm up the oil supply.
Optimum temperature 20–70°C
(68–158° F).
High return line back pressure. Check return line back-pressure.
Pressure should not exceed 10 bar.
Incorrect oil Use only Hydraulic Oil according to
spec.
Q.R. coupling def ect Locate and replace defect coupling.
LPD runs hot. Inadequate cooling of hy draulic oil. Check oil supply has adequate
cooling. Temperature should not
exceed 80
O
C (176
O
F).
