Clean the moulded plastic housing of the chain saw us-
ing a soft brush and cloth. Do not use water, solvents or
polishes. Remove all debris, especially from the motor
cooling vents 29.
Remove and brush clean the cover plate 15, chain and
chain bar after 1 to 3 hours of use.
Clean the area under the cover plate 15, the drive
sprocket 22 and chain bar assembly using a brush.
Clean oil outlet 20 with cloth.
If the chain tensioning mechanism (only
AKE 30-17 S/35-17 S/40-17 S) becomes difficult to op-
erate, dismantle the protective lid 32 from inside the
cover plate 15. Turn locking knob 14 and red tensioning
ring 13 against each other, so that debris is loosened
from the mechanism and can be discarded. Carefully
knock out debris. If mechanism is heavily clogged, use
brush or compressed air for cleaning. Do not use tools of
any kind.
If the chain saw is to be stored for a longer period of time,
remove the oil, briefly soak chain and chain bar in clean
oil and rap in oiled paper.
Store in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children.
Do not place other objects on the chain saw.
