OVER FREQUENCY
The troubleshooting steps for under and over
frequency faults are identical. Refer to (Figure
30) to troubleshoot (FC_5) & (FC_6) fault
indications.
NOTE: Over-frequency is a symptom of a
governor related issue. Contact Power Solutions
Inc. (PSI Technical Service Specialists, 1-888-
331-5764 or at:
Service@PowerGreatLakes.com) for
troubleshooting on the electronic governor.
The CMA/Control Panel monitors generator
output frequency at Wire # L1 & L2. If the
generator output frequency increases to 65Hz-
70Hz, the system control panel waits three
seconds before shutting the unit down. Should
the frequency exceed 70Hz, the system control
panel will shut down the generator immediately
after starting.
The reason for the 5Hz latitude in frequency
sensing is that the engine governor will hunt
somewhat before it finds the desired setting. This
causes variable frequency outputs that are not
harmful until they reach the 65Hz - 70Hz range.
If the system control panel senses an over-
frequency condition, the digital display will show
FC_6 and the remote LED will repeatedly flash
six times with a pause.
WARNING
Battery posts, terminals, and related
accessories contain lead and lead
components, chemicals known to the State
of California to cause cancer and
reproductive harm. Wash hands after
handling.
