Rule
of
Thumb:
Generally, do not use a number on the shutter
speed
scale which
is
any smaller than the focal
length
of
the lens
for
handheld shooting. For
handheld shooting with a
100
mm lens,
for
in
-
stance, set a shutter speed
of
1/
125
second or
faster; with a
200
mm lens, at least
11
250
second. If this
is
not possible, use a tripod
and
a
cable release.
I
wonder
what
we're
supposed
to
do
if
we
don
't
have
a flash
or
a
tripod
and a cable re-
lease?
46
Let's
try
steadying
the
camera on
this
table
and
then
releasing
the
shutter
with
the
AE-1 PRO-
GRAM's
self-timer
.
I'm
sure
it
will
reduce
the
possibility
of
camera
movement
.
Note
In
the programmed
AE
mode, the
" P " blinks when the shutter speed
is
1/
30
or
slower
to
warn you
of
the
possibility
of
camera movement
if
you
are
handholding the camera.
