• Periodicallycheckall fastenersandmakesurethesearetight.
ENGINE MAINTENANCE
Spark Plug
Forgoodperformance,the sparkplugmustbeproperlygappedand
freeof deposits.Replacethe sparkplugannually.
1. Disconnectthe cap fromthe sparkplug,andremoveanydirt from
thesparkplugarea.
2. Usethepropersizesparkplugwrenchtoremovethesparkplug.
NOTE:Replacewitha Champion®RC12YCsparkplug.
3. Checkthegapwitha wire gauge.SeeFigure15.Sparkpluggap
shouldbe0.030in (0.76ram).If necessary,resetthegap.
4. installandtightenthesparkplugtotherecommendedtorque(180
Ib-in[20 Nm]).
5. Attachthe sparkplugcapto thesparkplug.
Air Cleaner
A dirtyaircleanerwill restrictairflowto the carburetorandcausepoor
engineperformance,inspectthe filtereachtimetheengineis oper-
ated.Youwillneedtocleanthe filtermorefrequentlyifyouoperatethe
enginein verydustyareas.
Cleantheair cleanerevery25hoursof operationoronce a season.
Replacetheaircleanerannually.
Neverstartor runthe enginewiththe aircleanerassemblyor theair
filterremoved.
