Tires

Batteryposts,terminals, and relatedaccessoriescontainleadand lead
compounds,chemicalsknownto the Stateof Californiato causecancerand
reproductiveharm.Washhandsafter handling.
Jump Starting
Neverjump start a damaged or frozen battery. Becertain the vehicles
do not touch, and ignitions are off. Donot allow cable clamps to
touch.
1. Connectpositive(+) cableto positivepost(+)ofyourtractor'sdischarged
battery.
2. Connecttheotherendofthecableto the(positive+) postofthejumper
battery.
3. Connectthesecondcable(negative-) to theotherpostof thejumper
battery.
4. Connecttheotherendofthenegativecabletotheengineblockofthe
tractor,awayfromthebattery.Attachtoanunpaintedparttoassureagood
connection.
If thejumperbattery isinstalled onavehicle(i.e.car,truck),do NOTstart
the vehicle'senginewhenjump starting your tractor.
Neverexceedthe maximum inflation pressureshownon the sidewall of
tire.
Therecommendedoperating tire pressureis:
Approximately10psifor thereartires
Approximately14psiforthefronttires
IM PORTANT: Referto thetiresidewallfor exacttiremanufacturer's
recommendedormaximumpsi.Donotoverinflate.Uneventire pressurecould
causethecuttingdeckto mowunevenly.
Battery
Thebatteryissealedandismaintenance-free.Acidlevelscannotbechecked.
Alwayskeepthebatterycablesandterminalscleanandfreeofcorrosive
build-up.
Aftercleaningthe batteryandterminals,applya lightcoatof petroleumjelly
orgreaseto bothterminals.
Alwayskeeptherubberbootpositionedoverthe positiveterminaltoprevent
shorting.
If removingthe battery, disconnectthe NEGATIVE(Black)wire from its
terminal first, followed bythe POSITIVE(Red)wire. Whenre-installing
the battery, alwaysconnectthe POSITIVE(Red)wire to itsterminal first,
[fo owedbythe NEGATVE(Back)w re.

Charging
Batteriesgiveoff anexplosivegaswhile charging.Chargethe battery ina
lwell ventilated areaand keepawayfrom anopenflame orpilot light asona
lwater heater,spaceheater,furnace,clothesdryeror othergasappliances.
Whenchargingyourtractor'sbattery,useonly achargerdesignedfor 12Vlead-
acidbatteries.Readyourbattery charger'sOwner'sManualpriortocharging
routtractor'sbattery.Alwaysfollow itsinstructionsandheeditswarnings.
Ifyourtractorhasnotbeenputintouseforanextendedperiodoftime,chargethe
batteryasfollows:
1. Setyourbatterychargerto delivera maxof 10amperes.
2. Ifyourbatterychargerisautomatic,chargethebatteryuntilthecharger
indicatesthatchargingiscomplete.Ifthechargerisnotautomatic,charge
for nofewerthaneighthours.
