3 Installing the PTZ
Checking before Installation 3.1
Before installation
 Make sure that the place where the Camera is installed has enough space to hold the
Camera and its mounting accessories.
 Make sure that the wall where the Camera is installed and the bracket have the capacity to
bear the weight of the speed and its accessories.
 With four times of Factor of Safety (FoS).
 Make sure the wall is thick enough to allow bolts to be installed (You need to purchase
bolts separately).
 If the Camera is laser PTZ, the installation height should be above 8 meters.
During installation
The following conditions must be met when installing the Camera:
 Holes of the installation plate should match those of the PTZ base.
 The load-bearing capacity of the installation plate must be over one ton.
 Do not install the PTZ at unsteady places.
 Tighten all the screws; otherwise the accuracy of the PTZ rotating angle, the ability against
the wind, waterproof performance, and PTZ lifespan will be influenced.
 At least three people are needed when installing the PTZ. Do not damage the lens when
installing the PTZ.
 Do not plug the PTZ in before fixing the PTZ on the installation plate; otherwise the PTZ
may fall to the ground, and parts of the PTZ will be damaged.
Installation Procedure 3.2
Depending on the installation base, the PTZ can be installed in two manners.
3.2.1 Installed on Solid Base
Drill bolt holes. Step 1
Drill four bolt holes whose diameters are 12 mm in the installation base depending on
holes on the PTZ base. See Figure 3-1.
