Proper hand position requires one hand the mainhandle.
Actuating the Tool (Fig.A)
The DCN650 can be operated using one of two modes:
sequential action mode or bump actionmode.
Sequential Action Mode( )
The sequential action mode is used for intermittent nailing
when very careful and accurate placement isdesired.

against the worksurface.
4. Pull the trigger switch

to actuate thetool.
5. Release trigger and remove contact trip from workpiece.
6. Repeat steps 3‑ 5to fire subsequentnails.
Bump Action( )
The bump action mode is used for rapid nailing on flat,
stationarysurfaces.

a. To drive a single nail, operate the tool as described for
sequential action:
Push the contact trip

against the worksurface.
b. Pull the trigger switch

3. To drive several nails, depress and hold the trigger switch

work surface. Each time the contact trip

is depressed
whilst the trigger

is held, a nail willfire.
WARNING: Do not keep the trigger depressed when the
tool is not in use. Keep the trigger lock‑off

in the locked
position to prevent accidental actuation when the tool is
not inuse.
Preparing the Tool (Fig.A)
1. Remove battery pack and all nails from themagazine.
2. Check if the contact tripand nail pusher can movefreely.
3. Reload the nails to themagazine.
WARNING: Do not use the tool if the contact trip or nail
pusher cannot movefreely.
CAUTION: NEVER spray or in any other way apply
lubricants or cleaning solvents inside the tool. This can
seriously affect the life and performance of thetool.
Trigger Lock‑off (Fig.F)
This tool is equipped with a trigger lock‑off

which prevents
the tool from firing anail.

before making any adjustments or removing/
installing attachments or accessories. An accidental
start‑up can causeinjury.
To Remove the Battery Pack from the Tool
1. Press the release button

and firmly pull the battery pack
out of the toolhandle.
2. Insert battery pack into the charger as described in the
charger section of thismanual.
Fuel Gauge Battery Packs (Fig.B)
Some DeWALT battery packs include a fuel gauge which
consists of three green LED lights that indicate the level of
charge remaining in the batterypack.
To actuate the fuel gauge, press and hold the fuel gauge button.
A combination of the three green LED lights will illuminate
designating the level of charge left. When the level of charge
in the battery is below the usable limit, the fuel gauge will not
illuminate and the battery will need to berecharged.
NOTE: The fuel gauge is only an indication of the charge left on
the battery pack. It does not indicate tool functionality and is
subject to variation based on product components, temperature
and end‑userapplication.
Low Battery Indicator (Fig.A, B)
The low battery indicator is an integrated feature in the
left‑hand worklight. It will blink 4times to indicate that
the battery pack needs to be recharged and the tool will
automatically shutdown.
Switch off the tool and take out the battery pack

to charge it
as soon as the indicatorblinks.
The tool remains non‑operational as long as a low battery pack
is attached toit.
Selecting the Mode (Fig.E)

Non‑mar Tip (Fig.A)
Place the no‑mark tip
