12. Additional fields of application
All Polymax units are suitable for pres-
sure compression of embedding masses,
plasters and silicones. For this purpose
drain water through the drain tap (23),
close the tap again and adjust the tem-
perature to 0 °C (32 °F) (see 7.1).
Important: Heating up the polym-
erisation pot without water may
lead to damage of the heating
cartridge.
Open the lid (2) at the handle (1) and
put the objects into the dry polymeri-
sation pot.
Tip: In order to avoid impurities and/or
unevenness at the bottom of the pot
caused by plaster or embedding masses
we recommend an underlay of paper
or the like.
Close the lid of the pot up to the block
and start pressure-polymerisation
(see 7.3).
11. Reactivation of temperature monitor
In order to avoid an overheating and
consequently the destruction of impor-
tant Polymax components, all units have
been equipped with a temperature con-
trol (11). This part is situated from out-
side at the bottom of the polymerisa-
tion pot and interrupts the circuit of the
heating in case of too much tempera-
ture development. In order to reacti-
vate the temperature monitor discon-
nect the unit from the mains and let it
cool down. Drain the water completely
through the drain tap (23). Lay the Poly-
max on its side and use a soft tissue as
underlay, if necessary.
Unscrew the perforated metal plate at
the bottom of the unit and push the red
reset knob of the temperature monitor
until it latches completely. Insert per-
forated metal plate again and tighten
it. Put the Polymax into normal posi-
tion, close drain tap (23), fill the unit
with water and connect to the mains by
means of the power cord. Then go on
as described from point 7 on.
