5 Start-up and control
DANGER!
The initial start-up process may only be performed by authorised personnel
who have received training in how to operate the metering system.
Before initial start-up, check that your installation has been assembled
correctly to ensure the stability and secure position of the equipment.
Check that the entire metering system is sealed to prevent the escape of
chemicals and the risks to personnel and the environment which this entails.
Before switching on the pump for the first time, familiarise yourself with the
control system (operation) or
, if you use the ‘EcoAdd’ pump, with the software.
Prior to calibration, it is essential that the pump is vented (see
Ä
Chapter
5.2 ‘Venting the metering pump’ on page 28 ) in order to obtain correct
measurement results.
Depending on the operating conditions (viscosity, temperatures, line
lengths, line cross-sections, back-pressure...), the actual metering
capacity at 100% may deviate from the rated metering capacity to
a greater or lesser extent. Performing a volumetric measurement of
the pump enables the actual dosage rate to be determined under the
prevailing on-site conditions.
We recommend the following measurement cylinder sizes for volumetric
measurement:
–
5l /h and 11 l/h: 250ml
– 30 l/h and 50 l/h: 1000ml
– 120 l/h: 2000ml

n The mounting plate and pump are mounted at the desired location.
n The hydraulic connection is established.
n Any required electrical connections for external signal inputs are established.
n Electrical connection is established.
