What to do if ECS H81H3-M5 Motherboard does not power up?
- DDeborah ParksAug 2, 2025
If your ECS Motherboard isn't powering up and the fans aren't running, try these steps: First, disassemble the PC, removing the VGA adaptor card, DDR memory, LAN, USB and other peripherals including keyboard and mouse, leaving only the motherboard, CPU with CPU cooler, and power supply connected. Ensure the power cord is plugged into the wall and the PSU switch is on. Also, make sure to remove any unused screws or metal objects from inside the PC case to prevent short circuits. Check the CPU FAN connector and the 12V power connector are connected to the motherboard. For Intel platforms, inspect the CPU socket for any damaged or bent pins. Confirm that the 12V power and ATX connectors are fully inserted into the motherboard connectors and that the latches are locked.
