GEARBOX
Manual transmission
The reverse gear should be
engaged only when the
vehicle is stationary.
To avoid shifting noises when
engaging the reverse gear, wait
approximately three seconds with
the clutch depressed when the
vehicle is stationary.
5 - speed transmission
To select reverse gear, move the
gear lever towards the right and
rear.
6 - speed transmission
To select reverse gear, shift the
lever into neutral position and then
move the lever smartly to the left
against the spring pressure, before
pushing it forwards until it engages.
POSITIVE RETENTION OF FLOOR MATS
Position the drivers floor mat so that the eyelet is over the pointed end of the
retenton post and rotate forward to lock in. Make sure that the mat does not interfere
with the operation of the accelerator or the brake pedal. To remove the floor mat,
reverse the installation procedure. Only use Ford Original Equipment floor mats.
Ensure driver’s mat is fixed to floor clips. Do not stack extra floor mats over the
Ford Original Equipment floor mats as these are not positively retained and may
affect pedal operation. If fitting after market floor mats ensure that they DO NOT
interfere with the safe operation of the vehicles pedals. Please consult your Ford
dealer for further information when fitting additional floor mats.
Do not apply any undue
lateral force to the gear
lever when changing from 5th to
4th gear as this could lead to the
inadvertent selection of 2nd gear.
