IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS
Vehicle identification plate
The vehicle identification plate is
located at the base of the B-pillar.
This plate bears information on
vehicle type, identification number,
vehicle weights and it identifies
various components.
Vehicle identification number
The vehicle identification number is
additionally stamped onto the
plastic tag on the left-hand side of
the instrument panel. The
identification number on the
instrument panel can be read
through the front screen from
outside the vehicle.
Engine number
Depending on the engine type, the
engine number is located (seen in
the direction of travel):
Duratec engines – at the rear of
the engine block, on the left-hand
side.
Duratorq-TDCi Turbo diesel
engines – on the engine block, next
to the oil filter/cooler.

BZ Engine - at the rear of the
cylinder block (Transmission side)
