PAIRING A BLUETOOTH-ENABLED MOBILE PHONE
As we go through these demonstrations, keep in mind the difference
between pairing and connecting. Pairing means activating the partnership
between the Bluetooth-enabled phone and the SYNC system. It needs to be
completed only once, and after the pairing is complete, the SYNC system can
access the Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone or digital music player. Up to 12
Bluetooth devices can be paired to SYNC.
Connected means the partnership is active and SYNC can access the
device, whether it’s a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone or a digital music
player. As far as procedures, let’s start with Bluetooth-enabled mobile
phones and then we’ll cover the media devices that play digital music.
HOW TO PAIR A BLUETOOTH-ENABLED MOBILE PHONE
Here’s how to pair a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone and download the
phonebook contacts, which is part of the pairing process. Basically, you just
follow the prompts and the system leads you through.
1. With the ignition on, the radio on, and the vehicle stopped, press
the phone icon [ ] on the radio. CONNECT BT will appear on
the radio display. Press OK on the radio.
2. Scroll by pressing the SEEK button on the radio until ADD DEVICE
appears. Press OK on the radio.
3
Note: Not all phones support all the
SYNC calling features.
