MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
Ifproductisnotworkingasitshould,hasbeendropped,

toaservicecenterpriortocontinuinguse.

usingonlyidenticalreplacementparts.Thiswillensure
thatthesafetyoftheproductismaintained.
WARNING:
Any other servicing should be performed by an
authorizedservicerepresentative.
Themotorandbrushrollareequippedwithbearingswhich
containsufficientlubricationfortheirlifetime.Theaddition
oflubricantcouldcausedamage.Donotaddlubricantto
motororbrushroll.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoidusing solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plasticsaresusceptibletodamagefromvarioustypesof
commercialsolventsandmaybedamagedbytheiruse.Use
cleanclothstoremovedirt,dust,oil,grease,etc.
NOTICE:
Athermalprotectorhasbeendesignedintoyourcleaner
toprotectitfromoverheating.Whenthethermalprotector
activatesthecleanerwillstoprunning.
Ifthishappensproceedasfollows:
TurncleanerOFFandremovebatterypack.
EmptyDustBowl.
Inspect the Beater Bar, roller brushes, separator
assembly,filterforanyobstructions.Clearobstructions
ifpresent.
When cleaner is de-energized and motor cools for
30minutes,thethermalprotectorwilldeactivateand
cleaningmaycontinue.
If the thermal protector continues to activate after
followingtheabovesteps,yourcleanerneedsservicing.
WARNING:
Donotatanytimeletbrakefluids,gasoline,petroleum-
basedproducts,penetratingoils,etc.,comeincontact
withplasticparts.Chemicalscandamage,weakenor
destroyplasticwhichcouldresultinseriouspersonal
injury.
CAUTION:
Toreducetheriskofinjuryfrommovingparts-Remove
batterybeforeservicing.”
REMOVING THE ROLLER BRUSHES FOR
CLEANING
See Figures 9 - 11, page 11.
Therollerbrushesarelocatedinsidethebeaterbar.The
rollerbrusheshaveatool-freeendcap,allowingittobe
easilyremovedforcleaning.
To remove:
Removethebatterypack.
Rotatetheendcapapproximately1/4in.counterclockwise
tounlocktherollerbrush.
NOTE:Ifdesired,insertacoinintotheslotontheendof
therollerbrushandrotate.
Slidethebrushtoreleasethecapandpullthebrushfrom
thebeaterbarassembly.
NOTE:Use scissors to remove any threads or hair
wrappedaround the roller brush using the scissor
grooves.Useaclothorpapertoweltowipetheroller
brushclean.
To reattach:
Inserttherollerbrushintothebeaterbarassembly.
Alignthetabsonthecaptothenotchesontheassembly
andfirmlypressthecapintoplace.
NOTE:Makesuretheoppositeendoftherollerbrushis
alignedtothedrivespindlewhenpressingthecapinto
theassemblyhousing.
Turntheendcapclockwiseuntilitclicksintothelocked
position.
To remove the plush roller brush from the beater bar:
Insertacoinintotheslotontheendoftherollerbrush.
Rotatetheendcapapproximately1/4in.counterclockwise
tounlocktheplushrollerbrush.
Rotate the plush roller brush away from the beater bar
assembly.
