FUEL PRIMING INFREQUENT OR
OCCASIONAL USE
OPERATION
PRIMING BULB
UP
OUTLET END
(outboard motor side)
INLET END (tank side)
Connect the fuel hose to the tank and
the outboard motor, as shown. Be
sure both connectors snap securely
into place. Always disconnect the
fuel hose when storing or
transporting the outboard motor.
If your outboard motor will be used
on an infrequent or intermittent basis,
please refer to the fuel section of the
STORAGE chapter (p. ) for
additional information regarding fuel
deterioration.
Do not touch the priming bulb with
the engine running or when tilting up
the outboard motor. The carburetor
could overflow.
Check to be sure there are no fuel
leaks before starting the engine.
Hold the priming bulb up in the
direction of the arrow; then squeeze
the priming bulb several times until it
feels firm, indicating that fuel has
reached the engine.
If you are using a portable fuel tank,
turn the portable fuel tank vent knob
counterclockwise to the open
position.
