PREFLIGHT DE-ICING INSPECTION CHECKLIST
In addition to the normal preflight inspection, a de-icing inspection must
be performed immediately following or during the ground de-icing/anti-
icing process. All items below must be confirmed free of snow, ice
and/or frost accumulation:
• Wing, including leading edges, upper and lower surfaces,
aileron control surfaces, and winglet
• Flaps
• Vertical and horizontal stabilizers, including leading edges,
horns, upper and lower surfaces, rudder, elevator and side
panels
• Engine inlet and exhaust and nacelle precooler exhaust
• Windshield
• Antennas
• Fuselage
• Air data probes
• Fuel tank vents
• Inlets and exhausts
• Landing gear and gear doors and wheel and brake assemblies
Once the preflight inspection is complete and the airplane is clean and
adequately protected, the airplane should depart as soon as possible.
