Differences Between 1.5.2 and 3.0

This section describes differences between HP DCE/9000 Enhanced DFS

Version 1.5.2 and Version 3.0.

Important: System Name Change

CAUTION: This item is not actually a problem, but a change that may affect programs, scripts,

or other processes. In Enhanced DFS 3.0, the sysname in cm has been changed to

reflect the current operating system structure. The name is now pa20_hpux110064.

Software Availability in Native Languages

HP DCE/9000 Enhanced DFS Version 3.0 software and Enhanced DFS

messages are available in English only.

Location of DFS Administration Tools

The location of the DFS administration tools (sentinel, efsstatus.dcp,and

tkm_adjust) have changed as follows:

• Sentinel — Was installed in the /opt/dce/usr/contrib/sentinel/sentinel

directory. Is now installed in /opt/dce/bin/sentinel.

• EfsStatus — Was installed as /opt/dce/usr/contrib/efsadmin/bin/efsstatus.dcp.

Is now installed as /opt/dce/efsadmin/bin/efsstatus.dcp.

• Tkm_adjust — Was installed as /opt/dce/usr/contrib/tkm_adjust. Is now

installed as /opt/dce/bin/tkm_adjust.

Client Only Available

For this version of Enhanced DFS 3.0, only the client is available.
