1. Press the fan module release buttons (1) and slide the module (2) out of the enclosure.
2. Slide the replacement fan module into the enclosure until it clicks into place
3. Check the fan module status LEDs to ensure the module is operating properly. See Storage
enclosure LEDs (page 26).
Replacing the fan control card
This procedure should be performed only after HPE Support determines that the fan control card
is the source of the problem and recommends the fan control card be replaced.
CAUTION: This procedure requires removing the enclosure from the rack. Before removing
the enclosure, power down the HPE StoreOnce 5100 System as described in (page 30).
1. Disconnect all cables from the enclosure, including the power cables.
2. Remove the fan modules. See “Removing and replacing a fan module” (page 58)
3. Remove the enclosure from the rack. See “Removing and replacing an enclosure” (page 64)
4. Pull the hood latch up and back (1 and 2), and lift the enclosure cover up and remove it (3).
