The switches also work well as segment switches. That is, with their high
performance, they can be used for interconnecting network segments—
simply connect the network devices that form those segments to the switches.
In the illustration above, a V1410-16 Switch and V1410-24-2G Switch with PCs,
printers, and local servers attached, are both connected to a E2510-24G
Switch. The devices attached to the two switches can now communicate with
each other through the E2510-24G Switch. They can also all communicate with
the server that is connected to a 100Base-TX port on the V1410-24-2G Switch.
