7 Error and Warning Messages
This section provides a description for each TMF subsystem error (including command
syntax and execution errors, SPI errors and warnings, TMF dump/restore errors and
warnings, and archive tape errors and warnings). The SPI standard token ZSPI-TKN-
RETCODE contains a nonzero value if the TMFSERVE process detects an error in a
command message—or while attempting to perform a command.
This section contains the following topics:
ï‚·
Error Information and Failure Data Capture on page 7-2
ï‚·
Errors on page 7-3
ï‚·
Archive Tape Errors and Warnings on page 7-55
ï‚·
Dump/Restore Errors and Warnings on page 7-65
ï‚·
Audit Reading Exceptions on page 7-81
For the following errors and warnings, the error list begins with the ZSPI-TKN-
ERRLIST token, ends with the ZSPI-TKN-ENDLIST token, and the error values are in
the following ranges:
The archive tape errors and warnings (within the range 8000-8999) are returned in the
ZART-TKN-ARCHTAPEERRORMESS token by TMF events 204, 205, 206, and 207.
The dump/restore errors and warnings (within the range 9000-9999) are returned in the
ZTMF-TKN-DR-ERROR token by TMF events 202 and 203. The first occurrence of the
token contains the error number; the second occurrence contains the message text.
The audit reading exceptions are returned in the ZTMF-TKN-AUDITREADEXCEPTION
token by TMF event 173.
