SCAN OPERATION
Scan types
The transceiver has 2 scan types to suit your needs.
COM band scan
q Push [CLRDEL] to select the frequency mode.
w Push [SQL], then rotate [DIAL] to set the squelch level to
the point where noise is just muted.
e Push , then push [ANL
SCAN] to start the scan.
When a signal is received, the scan pauses until it disappears.
To change the scanning direction, rotate [DIAL].
r To stop the scan, push [CLRDEL].
Memory scan
q Push [MRMW] to select memory mode.
Push , then push [0BANK] to select the BANK number if de-
sired. Push [CLRDEL] to exit the BANK selection mode.
w Push [SQL], then rotate [DIAL] to set the squelch level to
the point where noise is just muted.
e Push , then push [ANL
SCAN] to start the scan.

r To stop the scan, push [CLRDEL].
NOTE: Program 2 or more memory channels to start
memory scan.
MEMORY SCAN
Repeatedly scans se-
lected memory BANKs
all TAG memory chan-
nels. Used for checking
often-used channels and
bypassing usually busy
channels such as con-
trol-tower frequencies.
COM BAND SCAN
Repeatedly scans
all frequencies
over the entire
COM band.
