OPTIONAL UNIT INSTALLATION
¾ General
The IC-F3062 series transceiver can be installed with
one of the following optional units.
·
UT-109R/UT-110R VOICE SCRAMBLER UNIT Non-
rolling type (UT-109R)/Rolling type (UT-110R) voice
scrambler unit provides higher communication security.
·
UT-119 DIGITAL MODULATOR/DEMODULATOR UNIT
Provides 6.25/12.5 kHz narrow bandwidth digital mode
operation.
¾ Installation
& CAUTION!
Optional unit installation should be done at authorized
Icom service centre only.
The water-resistance capability of the transceiver cannot
be guaranteed if you install an unit yourself, or have it
done at a non-authorised dealer/service centre.
Install the optional unit as follows.
① Rotate [VOL] to turn the power OFF, and remove the
battery pack.
② Remove the antenna and antenna nut
Ⓐ.
③ Remove the rotary selector
Ⓑ and volume control Ⓒ.
④ Unscrew two screws
Ⓓ, then take off the chassis
from the front panel in the direction of the arrow.
BE CAREFUL!
Flat cable is connected between the MAIN unit on the
chassis and front panel.
⑤ Install the optional unit as below.
•
UT-96R, UT-109R and UT-110R installation
DO NOT attach the unit to the connector "J2."
Otherwise no TX modulation or AF output is available.
* The PC board modification is required when installing
optional UT-109R and UT-110R.
•
UT-119 installation
DO NOT attach the unit to the connector "J1."
Otherwise no TX modulation or AF output is available.
•
The PC board modification for UT -109R and UT-110R
installation
Cut the pattern on the PC board at "MIC" and "AFOUT" as
shown below..
& NOTE: When uninstalling the unit
Be sure to re-solder the disconnected points as below
when you remove the unit.
Otherwise, no TX modulation or AF output is available.
