Air Cleaner Service/Replacement
A dry-type air cleaner silences and filters the intake air.
The air intake silencer assembly connects to the intake
manifold via a flexible hose.
1. Remove the four screws to remove the air cleaner
cover.
2. Remove the air cleaner screen.
3. Tap the screen lightly against a flat surface to
dislodge loose surface dirt. Do not clean in any
liquid or use compressed air as these will damage
the screen.
4. Examine the screen and housing for damage and
wear. Replace the screen or housing if necessary.
5. Wipe the air cleaner cover and base with a clean
rag to remove any dirt. Ensure that dirt does not
enter the intake port.
6. Make sure that the sealing surfaces fit correctly,
and replace the four screws.
