1.
Remove the inspection plug (1).

With the brake pedal depressed, insert the inspection
gauge (2) to the protrusions of the piston (3) and plate (4).
If the inspection gauge (2) can be inserted to the protru-
sions, the disc wear has reached to the repair limit.
In such case, ask your Komatsu distributor to perform the
inspection and replacement of the part.
REMARK
Perform the operation with 2 workers. One worker depres-
ses the brake pedal and the other pushes in the inspection
gauge (2).
3.
Install the inspection plug (1).
Tightening torque : 127 to 177 Nm {13 to 18 kgm}
METHOD FOR CHECKING FUNCTION OF PPC ACCUMULATOR
For handling of the accumulator, see “HANDLE ACCUMULATOR AND GAS SPRING (2-40)”.
When you cannot restart the stopped engine while the work equipment is raised, you can use, as urgent meas-
ures, the oil pressure stored in the accumulator to actuate the valve, thereby, lower the work equipment to the
ground.
