TROUBLESHOOTING
n If your machine is not operating correctly, try to resolve it by referring to this troubleshooting guide.
If the problem persists in spite of this, contact our helpline (See details at end).

PROBLEM / MALFUNCTION PROBABLE CAUSES CORRECTIVE ACTIONS
The machine displays a failure,
the software hangs or your
machine has a malfunction.
n Software problem.
n Turn off and unplug the machine.
Remove the filter cartridge. Wait
for 20 seconds and restart the
machine.
n If the failure persists, note down
the message on the screen and
call the KRUPS customer service.
The appliance does not switch
on when the ON/OFF button is
pressed.
n Power failure or blown fuse.
n The mains plug is not pushed into
the mains socket correctly or into
the machine or the mains socket
is faulty.
n The appliance is faulty.
n Check the fuses of your electrical
installation.
n Check that the plug is correctly
inserted into the socket or have
the socket repaired.
n Have the appliance checked by a
qualified technician.
You used pre-ground coffee and
the machine does not make
coffee.
n You have poured too much
pre-ground coffee or the
pre-ground coffee is too fine.
n Use a mixture for espresso coffee
machines.
The espresso or coffee is not hot
enough.
n The temperature of the coffee is
not set high enough.
n The coffee cup is cold.
n Check the coffee temperature in
the “Settings” menu.
n Programme your recipe using the
“Favourites function by
increasing the temperature.
n Warm the cup by rinsing it with
hot water before starting the
preparation.
The coffee is too lightly coloured
or too weak.
n There is not enough coffee in the
coffee bean container.
n Too much coffee is prepared.
n Check that coffee is present in
the container and that nothing is
obstructing the sensor (coffee
bean blocking in the front, etc.).
n Reduce the quantity of water in
the coffee.
The coffee dispenses too slowly.
n The filter cartridge is clogged.
n The machine may need
cleaning/descaling.
n Grind parameter set too fine
n Start a cleaning of the machine.
n Remove/replace the filter
cartridge.
n Increase the grind fineness.
