Faults Possible cause Action
The ABS warning lamp lights
up
ABS fuse blown Change the ABS fuses. ( p. 100)
Large difference in wheel
speeds of the front and rear
wheels
Stop the vehicle, switch off the igni-
tion, and start it again.
Malfunction in ABS Read out the ABS fault memory using
the KTM diagnostics tool.
High oil consumption Engine vent hose bent Route the vent hose without bends or
change it if necessary.
Engine oil level too high Check the engine oil level. ( p. 115)
Engine oil too thin (low viscos-
ity)
Change the engine oil and the oil filter,
clean the oil screens. ( p. 115)
Headlight and position light are
not functioning
Fuse 6 blown Change the fuses of individual electri-
cal power consumers. ( p. 101)
Turn signal, brake light, and
horn are not functional
Fuse 5 blown Change the fuses of individual electri-
cal power consumers. ( p. 101)
Time is not (correctly) dis-
played
Fuse 1 is blown Change the fuses of individual electri-
cal power consumers. ( p. 101)
Set the time and date.
12 V battery discharged Ignition not switched off when
vehicle was parked
Charge the 12-V battery. ( p. 97)
The 12-V battery is not being
charged by the alternator
Check the charging voltage.
Check the open-circuit current.
Combination instrument shows
nothing on the display
