Secondary Collision Reduction (SCR)
If your vehicle is involved in a collision, the Secondary Colli sion Reduction (SCR)
operates the hazard warning (SCR hazard) to reduce the possibility of a secondary accident
after an initial collision. The Secondary Collision Reduction (SCR) operates when it
detects a certain amount of impact.
CAUTION
The Secondary Collision Reducti on (SCR) may not operate under the following
conditions:
Ø A certain amount of impact is not detected.
Ø An important part for the system operation is damaged.
Ø The Air Bag/Front Seat Belt Pretensioner Sys tem warning light in the instrument
cluster illuminates.
Refer to Warning/Indicator Lights on page 4-15.
qHazard Warning (SCR hazard)
The hazard warning (SCR hazard) flashes the turn signal indicators during a collision to
caution the vehicles surrounding your vehicle when it detects a certain amoun t of impact.
While the hazard warning (SCR hazard) is operating, all the turn signal indicators are
flashed automatically.
After the system has been activated it can be turned off by pressing the hazard warning
light switch two times or switching the ignition off.
NOTE
The hazard warning (SCR hazard) does not operate if the ignition is switched off.
